Dr. Leili Parsa is a board certified rheumatologist and internist who received her medical doctorate (M.D.) from Tehran University with honor. Dr. Parsa continued her medical training as a resident in Internal Medicine at the Union Memorial Hospital of University of Maryland followed by Rheumatology Fellowship at the Washington Hospital Center / Georgetown University.
Dr. Parsa’s clinical interest focuses on diseases of joints, muscles, tendons, and bones including rheumatoid arthritis, osteoarthritis, psoriatic arthritis, gout, pseudo-gout, osteoporosis and ankylosing spondylitis. Dr. Parsa is also an expert in autoimmune disorders including systemic lupus erythematosus, Sjogren, polymyalgia rheumatica, scleroderma, temporal arteritis and other vasculitis. Her true passion is to provide the best and the most comprehensive evidence-based care for her patients to alleviate their suffering from rheumatologic conditions, and to help them improving their general health and quality of life. For injections into joints, Dr. Parsa uses state-of-the-art ultrasound machine for achievement of more accurate, less painful outcomes. Dr. Parsa’s research endeavor involved projects investigating structure of duct system of rabbit lacrimal glands and their role in making tear as well as an animal model of Sjogren in the Department of Cell and Neurobiology University of Southern California Los Angeles.
